New Home!!

One of dear friend is shifting and I decided to make her a card..Sharing the pictures below

I have used Sugarpea designs Stamp, a small peony from Pretty peonies Stamp set to create the background, have stamped with library green archival ink on the base cardstock.

I created an alcohol ink background keeping the color inspiration from Sugarpea Mix it up challenge #42.Then I have done layered die cutting with Sugarcuts "Home sweet home" and tried fixing it as per the sketch provided in the challenge.

The sentiment is half stamped and half handwritten...the hearts on the left above the sentiment was leftover from the Home die cut.

Sharing some closeups of the Alcohol ink background and the layering done on die cut.

I really enjoyed making my first alcohol ink background...the outcome is pretty with Sugarpea designs products.

Elegant name plate!

Today I want to show you a name plate done by me recently...This one is completely up cycled. I have used some scraps of wood lying with me to create this name plate.Let me share a picture of the plate first.

So I started by taking two vertical panels and fixed hooks on both at the back of them.I have used a Paper from No One but You Scrapbook paper from Bob and Betty.I used Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the base. For the horizontal panels,I have used Papericious Naturals designer paper and again adhered with Mod podge. The circles used on the left hand top corner are the old coasters which have been decoupaged with Bob and Betty Festive assortments decoupage papers. The smaller circle is colored with Papericious Chalk paints with a hint of Acrylic colors and topped with Glossy accents.

The names on the plate are covered with Papericious Heavy black Gesso and topped with Glossy accents to add shine and volume to the project.

The peacocks are colored with Papericious chalk paints and then topped with white sparkle.

Hope you liked it.

Happy blooms !!

 Hello friends,

I had a busy weekend with guests around...I made this card before starting the weekend for a last minute requirement of a friend who wanted to give one of my handmade cards to her 8 year old niece who is completely mad about crafts.I was quiet happy with the feedback I got that the little girl loved it.

I am totally excited to share this card as I have used my brand new buys from Altenew for this card.Let me share the card with you...

My inspiration for this card came from April Inspiration posted on Altenew card blog..here is a picture of the inspiration

It was majorly the colors which inspired me in this pic. Here is the products I used,Altenew Watercolor stripes stencil and Happy Bloom stamp set with Rangers gold embossing powder.

So firstly I used stencil with Distress inks to create my background with some black color splatters on top of it ,after that I heat embossed the stamped image on vellum sheet, attached that to the base and lastly added some coordinating cup sequins and water droplets...TaDAA...my card is ready in 25 minutes...yeah I call that quick๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜†.

Here is one more pic of the card in different setup

Hello Sunshine !!

Hello friends,

I had an awesome weekend as my close friend and her kids came to visit us...It was super fun filled weekend with lot of crafting, painting, swimming and last but not the least loads of delicious food.
Now back to making some gorgeous cards.Today I have made a card with Create A Smile stamps. These stamps are lovely with awesome quality.I have been eyeing on these beauties for long and finally have added some to my stash.Sharing card below

I have used flowers from Cart full of treasure stamp set and have done lots of masking.I did stamping with black archival first and then water colored the flowers.I tried making a big spring bouquet .Once all done I have die cut the piece with a circle die.

For making the card,I took a 5*5 inches white base card and attached a green vellum strip of 2*3 inches  from the right. Then attached the floral colored piece up on the vellum with double sided tape.I added a sentiment by die cutting with Stamplorations (Cutplorations) Hello Sunshine Phrase Die using gold sheet.

Attached all with clear glue and lastly added some fun dots with Rangers enamel accent.Happy to see my first floral spring card for the month.Sharing few more pics of the card

Touch of Nature with Culture!!

Hello friends,

Hope you all have started enjoying the weekend...Today I have a very different Mixed media where I have tried combining many elements like Culture,Nature ,Mythology and most importantly an important message for humanity. Some days back I traveled to Kerala and felt the culture a little more closely.

My frame derives its main essence from an Indian state,"KERALA"....Kerala is also known as GOD'S OWN COUNTRY...one of the important festival of Kerala is "ONAM".It is an annual Hindu festival and falls in the Malayalam Calendar of Chingam, which in Gregorian calendar overlaps with August-September.The festival commemorates the Vamana avatar of Vishnu,a Hindu god and subsequent homecoming of the legendary Emperor "Mahabali".

Sharing pictures of the frame below,

Story goes that during the reign of mighty asura (demon) king, Mahabali, Kerala witnessed its golden era. Every body in the state was happy and prosperous and king was highly regarded by his subjects. Apart from all his virtues, Mahabali had one shortcoming. He was egoistic. This weakness in Mahabali's character was utilized by Gods to bring an end to his reign as they felt challenged by Mahabali's growing popularity. However, for all the good deed done by Mahabali, God granted him a boon that he could annually visit his people with whom he was so attached. It is this visit of Mahabali that is celebrated as Onam every year. People make all efforts to celebrate the festival in a grand way and impress upon their dear King that they are happy and wish him well.
I have used various mediums for this frame..I have used raw mdf base for the frame and have used lot of Lindy's sprays ,Shimmer pastes,Distress inks and gold flakes.I have also used air dry clay to give little 2D effect at some places. The leaves are done with Foamiran.
Sharing few more pics of the frame

I completely enjoyed making the frame as I personally believe how these festivals bring the whole world together.A little more about the highlight of my frame...I have used the hand painted picture of KATHAKALI dancer, which is main attraction of Onam dance.Attaching a pic of real Kathakali dance

The Elephants are adorned with beautiful gold plated costumes to welcome king Mahabali.

Hope you have liked it too,Do leave love in the form of comments below...Thanks for stopping by.
